My Office—EVENING
The Boss calls a big staff meeting. I am at the end of the table working and not contributing. She half-jokes “Frank you are too quiet down there.
“Sorry,” I say, “It’s just that I have no opinion and am busy.”
The meeting is about ghosts. The Boss is interested in them, and thinks we should be actively pursuing the field of investigation. We take a break, I step outside for a smoke, and Mary comes with me. She doesn’t smoke; she just wants to tell me that I’m wrong.
There are spirits everywhere.
She says “There’s one now!” as she spots a ghost across the street and thinks we should photograph it for the Boss. I do have a camera in my satchel, but an unconvinced the blurriness across the street is a dead spirit. I am not wearing my glasses. I don’t see it, and am kind of relieved a bit.
